“The gratitude expressed by everyone who drove through the distribution center was infectious and heart-warming"  Kim Borzor

On Tuesday, November 2nd, Wade Riddle, Kim Ruby, Kim Borzor, and Kimberly Love of Canada Life Re’s Blue Bell office helped the Keystone Opportunity Center load fresh produce into cars as part of their weekly Fresh for All program.

Every Tuesday, local organization Philabundance donates a truckload of food including fresh produce.  Regular volunteers then sort the food into bundles for distribution to members of the community.  Individuals and families may collect the food without any registration or qualification requirements.  Cars start lining up around 9:30 am, and distribution begins at 12:30 and continues until all the food is disbursed.  On the Tuesday that Wade and “the Kims” assisted, over 150 cars were served!

Kimberly Love commented, “while it is unfortunate that we have so many local community members in need of food assistance, it is amazing that there are organizations like Philabundance and Keystone that are here to fill the need. This was the first time CLRe’s employees volunteered to help with this weekly effort, but it certainly won’t be the last!”

“The gratitude expressed by everyone who drove through the distribution center was infectious and heart-warming,” added Kim Borzor.

Keystone Opportunity Center is located in Souderton, PA USA, and provides a multitude of services to area communities.  Philabundance is a proud member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks leading the fight against hunger in the United States, and is based in Philadelphia, PA.
